From staff reports
East Rowan’s girls lost 43-40 in overtime at Robinson on Thursday.
East got 12 points from Shenell Pharr, eight each from Jocelyn Lowe and Shenique Pharr, and seven from Brittany Small.
Lowe had 11 rebounds. Small had eight rebounds. Shenell Pharr had seven steals.
East shot 8-for-23 from the free-throw line, and coach Danielle Porter counted 22 missed layups.
The Mustangs forced 29 turnovers, but they committed 24 themselves.
“You feel good about your chances when you shoot layups and free throws, but we didn’t make them tonight,” Porter said. “We’re facing some adversity just about every game, and we’re not very good at overcoming it right now. We’ve just got to work on it.”
