Salisbury Police officials say it’s not clear what led to the front glass window breaking at the Waffle House on East Innes Street Tuesday night.

Some patrons who were there at the time of the incident believe it was a gunshot, but police say they’ve found no evidence to indicate a shooting.

The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. at the restaurant, located at 501 E. Innes St., when there were people at the restaurant for a holiday party.

Police responded to the scene after customers said all of a sudden the front window shattered, said Police Capt. Shelia Lingle.

Lingle said one person received minor injuries, possibly from shattered glass. A small hole was located in the upper left corner of the window, but no bullet or shell casing was found, she said.

No one said they heard or saw anything. The incident is still under investigation.
