The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a store in the Franklin community.

An unidentified white male armed with a shotgun robbed Village Grocery, according to a news release from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office. Village Grocery is located north of Salisbury at 4450 U.S. 601.

The man escaped on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Significant details about the man’s identity were unavailable late Saturday night. Surveillance footage shows the man wearing a dark-colored, hooded shirt. His mouth and nose covered with a piece of fabric and he is wearing sunglasses.

The footage shows the unidentified male leaving and entering the store.
