Members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will be performing “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at the church this weekend.

The play will be performed in the fellowship hall at 6 p.m. today and Sunday.

The play is based on a book by Barbara Robinson of the same name. It tells the story of six delinquent children who engage in behaviors like smoking, drinking, shoplifting and other inappropriate activities.

The children are chosen for roles in a church play and church members witness their traditional Christmas play performed in an unconventional way.

The performers in the play will be around elementary and middle school age, along with some adult church members, Ruth Julian, a church member, said.

The performance is free to the public.

The church is located at 205 St. Paul Church Rd. in Salisbury.
