Knollwood Elementary Knight of Character awards

Every month one student from each class is recognized for a character trait. These students will be presented with a certificate for the month and attend the quarterly character social. The character trait for November was “Patriotism.”

Essay winners at Sacred Heart

Five Sacred Heart Catholic School students placed as first- or second-place winners in a national essay contest. Fourth- and fifth-grade students at Sacred Heart volunteered to read copies of “Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims” by Rush Limbaugh and submit a picture and a 250-word essay through the Rush Revere website. Fifty winners were chosen nationally.

Fourth grade: Annie Tadiello, first place. Ellie Cardelle, second place. Gray Goodman, second place.

Fifth grade: Kyna Zaldivar, first place. Hannah Carr, second place.
