Cannon School wraps 1,500 gifts

On Wednesday students at Cannon School wrapped 1,500 gifts for needy children during Project Wrap-in.

The service project calls on students to donate a gift for an underprivileged child, then bring it to school to be wrapped. On Dec. 9, younger students were paired with older “buddies,” and wrapped the gifts in classrooms.

The gifts were donated to charitable organizations including Hospitality House of Charlotte, United Way, CCM, the Ronald McDonald House, Church of God Children’s Home and Angels in Need. A representative from each charity was on hand for a festive all-school assembly, complete with performances by the school’s jazz band and dance troupes. This is the ninth year Cannon School has participated in Project Wrap-in.
