Rumple faces new charges

Zachary Todd Rumple, 25, received new charges from Iredell County warrants Wednesday.
Zachary Rumple was arrested on Sept. 25 along with his father, Christopher Todd Rumple, 47, following a joint investigation between the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, the Kannapolis Police Department, and the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators seized $6,520, multiple handguns, plastic bags containing what appeared to be drug residue, high-powered rifles and shotguns and ammunition from Christopher Rumple’s home on Liz Cortland Road.
Christopher Rumple was charged with two counts in Rowan County: trafficking and conspiracy to traffick heroin. He was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center. He posted his $500,000 secured bond and was released.
Zachary Rumple was charged with five counts in Rowan County: selling heroin, delivering heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, trafficking heroin by possession and conspiracy to traffick heroin. In Cabarrus County, he was charged with one count of selling heroin and one of possessing with intent to sell and deliver.
Zachary Rumple was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $2,050,000 secured bond.
Wednesday, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office served warrants on Zachary Rumple and charged him with trafficking heroin or opium.
Zachary’s younger brother, Brandon Lee Rumple, known to some as the “drug kingpin of Enochville,” is serving a 15-year sentence in Cabarrus County on drug charges.
