A Salisbury police officer stumbled upon 45 grams of marijuana Sunday while investigating a vehicle break-in on East Fisher Street.
Officer J.C. Easler was looking through a parking lot to see which cars were broken into when he spotted two large bags of marijuana on the floor of a car, according to police reports. One bag contained 35 grams. The other contained 10 grams.
Easler waited to see who owned the vehicle.
At about midnight, he spotted Rockwell resident Andrew Taylor Turner briefly unlocking and getting in the car, according to police reports.
Easler then asked Turner who owned the vehicle, a Dodge Dakota. It was Turner’s vehicle, according to police reports.
Turner, 25, of the 700 block of Shannon Drive in Rockwell, was then charged with felony possession of a schedule four controlled substance. Turner was booked into the Rowan County Jail under a $1,000 secured bond.
