Deputies have arrested a man on the Sheriff’s Office most wanted list. Jonathan Cory Yarborough, 29, was wanted for weapons possession by a felon, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was arrested Sunday when deputies received a report that he was located at 224 Geiger Lane. According to the report, a woman answered the door and told deputies that Yarborough was in the back bedroom. Deputies called for Yarborough to come out of the room, but received no response.

They allegedly found Yarborough hiding under the bed, and told him to come out. While placing handcuffs on him, deputies noticed a white object sticking out of his back pocket. According to the report, it was a syringe filled with a brown liquid that deputies say was heroin.

Yarborough was charged with resist, delay and obstruct a public officer and possession of a controlled substance. He was taken to the Rowan County Detention Center and placed under a $10,000 secured bond.
