11 million is not so many
There are 11 million people here illegally and breaking the law. Fake geniuses (like George Will) would have you believe nothing can be done because there are so many. My guess is there’s no money in it. There are already many millions of people in this country being apprehended and charged with breaking the law every year. Eleven million would be a small job for our law enforcement people.
Last year the Highway Patrol stopped people breaking the law 914,390 times in North Carolina. They were apprehended, processed and fined. This does not include local police and sheriff’s departments. On a population basis, this means that people breaking the law were stopped by Highway Patrols in this country approximately 34 million times. And this also does not include police and sheriff’s departments.
The only conclusion I can draw is that we legal working people are nothing more than low-hanging fruit.
