American Legion Post 146 of Landis is sponsoring a Veteran’s PTSD Awareness 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 24.

The run will start at 10 a.m. at the Corriher Lake Wilderness Area in Landis, across from the South Rowan YMCA. It’s being held in honor of Veterans Day.

A registration form is available at www.salisburyrowanrunners.com. Race day registration will be from 9-9:50 a.m. Donations will be accepted and given to the Salisbury VA Medical Center’s post-traumatic stress disorder program.

The run will not be timed.

Post-traumatic stress disorder may occur after a person experiences a traumatic event, ranging from combat exposure, abuse, assault, accidents to natural disasters. The Legion post will have information about the disorder available.
