Calling all creative children: It’s time for Rowan Public Library’s annual Children’s Bookmark Contest with prizes awarded in three age categories: 4-6 years, 7-9 years and 10-11 years.

Children ages 4-11 are encouraged to design an original bookmark with a theme centered on books, reading, libraries and/or literacy. You may use Rowan Public Library’s tagline: “Rowan Public Library — Knowledge for Life.” Entries must be done without any adult or sibling assistance. Designs that use copyrighted characters and elements will not be judged.

It is recommended that children use markers, crayons, pens or dark colored pencils when creating their designs as these typically reproduce the best. Stickers and other attached decorations cannot be used.

The following prizes will be awarded in three age groups: 4-6 years, 7-9 years. and 10-11 years:

First place — Bookmark printed and distributed by Rowan Public Library; $25 gift certificate to Literary Bookpost; one month membership to Bounce City.

Second place — Bookmark printed and distributed by Rowan Public Library;  $15 gift certificate to Literary Bookpost.

Third place — Bookmark printed and distributed by Rowan Public Library; $10 gift certificate to Literary Bookpost.
