Rowan weather: We’re stuck with clouds again

The forecast has changed, as it always does, to include a 30 percent chance of rain on Saturday, so the weekend won’t be as perfect as we’d hoped.
The one thing that has not changed is the cloud cover, expected to linger through Friday. Blame it on a swath of tropical moisture that’s streaming from the mountains to the Piedmont.
Today will be cloudy with a 70 percent chance of showers and a possibility of patchy fog. Drizzle is likely throughout the day, with more showers in the afternoon. The high will be 76. A tenth to a quarter inch of rain is possible.
Tonight, showers are likely before 9 p.m., with a 60 percent chance. Expect fog after the showers move through. The low will be 64, with another tenth to a quarter inch of rain possible.
Wednesday’s chance of showers is 60 percent, mainly in the afternoon. It will be cloudy again, but warm, with a high near 80, leading to a muggy day. Wednesday night’s chance of showers is 50 percent, with a low of 61 and north northeast wind at 6-8 mph. Again, a tenth to a quarter inch of rain is possible.
The chance of rain Thursday is slightly lower, around 40 percent, with mostly cloudy skies and a high of 69 with north northeast wind at 7-9 mph. Thursday night, the chance of rain goes back up to 50 percent, with a low of 56.
Friday has another 50 percent chance of rain, with cloudy skies and a high near 65. Same thing for Friday night, with a low of 53.
Saturday’s 30 percent chance of showers will be mainly before 1 p.m. It will be partly sunny, with a high near 67. Saturday night will be mostly cloudy with a low of 52.
Finally, the sun should shine on Sunday, with a high of 69. Sunday night’s low will be 51.
Monday, too, will be partly sunny, with a high near 70.
