SPENCER — On July 25, 2015, Whosoever Will Let Them Come Ministries (WWLTC) hosted their annual Friends & Family Day. Last year’s theme, “The Great Church Gathering,” continued this year. This is an event in its 6th year for WWLTC ministries headed by Bishop Chris Brown and Pastor Patricia A. Brown.

Bishop Brown stated God had given him a vision to bring The Church together, not the churches, and this affair did just that.

Churches from surrounding areas that participated in this gathering included New Hope Missionary Baptist Church (Hamlet), Root of David Church of Deliverance (Lexington), The Church of the Word of God (Spencer), Crown In Glory Lutheran Church (Salisbury), Mt. Calvary Holy Church (Salisbury), Solely For Christ Ministries (Winston-Salem), Rhema Praise & Worship Church (Spencer), New Covenant Bibleway Church (Charlotte), Christ Baptist Church (Norwood), Eastside Baptist Church (Kannapolis) and Celebrate Recovery at Winston-Salem First (Winston-Salem).

Minister Jonathan Hill ministered and served and liturgical dance was provided by Minister Gloria Gray of Faces of Praise Ministry (a mime and youth ministry of Kujimani Creative Arts).

The goal was to reach-out to the body of the church and the community at large both physically and spiritually. There was lots food, fellowship, music and fun for all.

T-shirts for the event reflected each church’s name on the front with the Scripture “Now you are the body of Christ and each one of you is a part of it” (I Corinthians 12:27 NLT).

The back of each shirt depicted the silhouette of a body with the name of each church and Christ’s name displayed on the head of the Body (The Church),  to reinforce what the Bible states: “We are many members … one body” (I Corinthians 12:20).

This was a joint venture, and everyone played a role in its success. There were approximately 300 in attendance. This was not about color, church denomination or anything else which sometimes separates people. This event was truly about togetherness and outreach.

There are several ministries under the WWLTC umbrella: Behind the Wall (prison ministry), youth ministry, marriage and singles counseling, outreach, Men of Valor (men’s ministry), Women of Faith (women’s ministry), food pantry, clothes closet, Bible study (Refreshing Wednesdays), Sunday morning worship, morning glory (Sunday School) and the van ministry.

WWLTC Ministries is located at 318 8th St. and is lead by the Holy Spirit and Bishop Chris and Pastor Patricia Brown. For more information concerning WWLTC and its other ministry opportunities, call 704-633-3876 or email ministrycorrespondence@wwltcministry.org

WWLTC expresses its sincere thank you to everyone who made this year’s Great Church Gathering a grand success, from the churches who attended to the sponsors who donated.
