A Mooresville man has been charged with taking indecent liberties with a child following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Nathan James Dahlquist, 31, of Presbyterian Road, Mooresville, face three counts of indecent liberties with a child. He is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.

A report was filed with the Sheriff’s Office in August saying that three children under the age of 13 had been sexually abused by a family friend. The abuse occurred between Jan. 1 and Aug. 3.

Detective Sgt. C.M. Benfield with the Special Victims Unit set up a forensic interview with all three children. After additional interviews with witnesses and further investigation, Dahlquist was charged and  arrested on Sept. 11.
