Kneeling Gardeners

The Kneeling Gardeners met on Aug. 24 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Kannapolis for the regular monthly meeting. Due to the cancellation of the May speaker and the June trip to Karriker’s Daylilies Farm, due to the excessive heat and vacations in July, the group was glad to get back together for a planning session for 2016.

The meeting was presided over by president Chris Wielandt. Janelle Murray had devotions, and treasurer Judy Coggins reported on funds raised at the plant sale.

Members are encouraged to submit photographs from their gardens to be used on the 2016 note cards and are to bring them to the September meeting. October will be the election of 2016 officers. Refreshments were provided by Earl and Shirley Gray and Lonnie and Judy Coggins.

The program for Sept. 28 will be “Wildlife Back Yards” with Glenda Steele. Anyone interested in gardening is invited to attend.
