The Salisbury Community Foundation is currently accepting applications from nonprofit organizations for its 2015 Grants Program.

Grants will be awarded for projects and programs that address a community need and benefit residents of Salisbury/Rowan County. Priority will be given to projects and programs in the following areas:

• Arts and culture.

• Public education: K-12.

• Education: Higher Ed.

• Environment.

• Human Services.

The Foundation awards grants up to $10,000, noting that most previous awards are typically $2,500. Actual award amounts will be determined based on merit of the project and available funds.

Applicants must be eligible organizations — 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, congregations, governmental and educational institutions —  located and serving Salisbury and Rowan County area residents. Additional guidelines can be found at the foundation’s website www.salisbury-cf.org.

The grant cycle will be conducted through a newly enhanced online application process. To learn more, an informational webinar is available to watch independently on the website at http://www.fftc.org/communityforce-webinar.

Completed applications must be submitted by noon on Oct. 2. The system closes promptly at noon on that day and will not accept late submissions. Contact Lauren Evans with questions at 704.973.4568 or levans@fftc.org.

The Salisbury Community Foundation was established in 1944 to increase the charitable giving resources in the Salisbury-Rowan County area. From its first contribution to create a community endowment, the Salisbury Community Foundation has grown into a philanthropic organization managing over 100 funds with total charitable assets of more than $16 million.

The Salisbury Community Foundation joined Charlotte-based Foundation For The Carolinas as a supporting organization in 1995 and became an affiliate in 2006.

The foundation assists donors in making charitable contributions to the community, provides services for nonprofit organizations to create new or manage existing endowments and awards grants for new projects. For more information, visit: www.Salisbury-cf.org.
