Sunset Run 5K is Friday night

The Innospec Sunset Run 5K is scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday in downtown Salisbury. There will also be a fun run for children ages 10 and younger. Both events benefit the United Way of Rowan County and its 17 member agencies. Both are also a part of Friday Night Out in downtown Salisbury. 

Innospec is the title sponsor for the event. Other sponsors include Novant Health, Cheerwine, Kluttz and Reamer, YMCA of Rowan County, the city of Salisbury and Chick-fil-A.

The first 200 5K participants will receive a commemorative dri-fit shirt and refreshments following the event. Fun run participants will get a cotton shirt and finisher’s medal. Participants in the 5K will also be eligible for awards in 14 age groups. Additional awards will be given to overall, masters, grandmasters and senior grandmasters winners. All participants will get glow necklaces.
