A Salisbury company will host a free church safety and security seminar next week at the Rowan County Rescue Squad office, 1140 Julian Road.

Carolina Tactical Outfitters, a company that offers tactical gear, firearms and medical training, will host the seminar from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The seminar is open to all religious institutions, churches, places of worship and church-based educational institutions.

Organizers say they plan to discuss churches’ safety concerns and potential liability, church religious points of view and concerns, and how to form a security team.

Organizers say they are not hosting the seminar as a “scare tactic,” but so that each church can create a plan that puts security back into places of worship.
