CONCORD — A new Homewood Suites is going up on the corner of Scott Padgett Parkway and Bruton Smith Boulevard, contracted by MB Kohn Construction and owned by Naman Speedway II LLC.

The $10.3 million building permit issued for the hotel help push Cabarrus County building permits to $55.7 million in July, according to the Independent Tribune.

Permits for new single-family homes in Cabarrus totaled $25 million in July— up from $15 million a year ago.
