Spencer Town Board Member Kevin Jones is running for re-election with his eye on a number of quality of life issues.

Jones, 35, is a self-employed Subway franchisee. He has served two terms — four years — on the town board. He is one of seven candidates running in a race with six open spots.

If re-elected, Jones said he hopes to continue work already in progress by the town. He mentioned supporting the Stanback Forest or Spencer Woods and the Transportation Museum as important priorities. Improving the quality of residential areas and helping corporate development were also priorities that Jones mentioned.

He said the most important issue facing the town is rebuilding its image and improving the quality of life.

He is a graduate of West Rowan High School and Elon University, where he received a degree in chemistry.

Jones attends Life Church, where he is an elder and life group coordinator. He also volunteers at North Rowan Elementary as a parent, Habitat for Humanity and Rowan Helping Ministries.

Jones and his wife have three daughters — ages 9, 6 and 4 — and a 1-year-old son.
