Keep Rowan Clean effort to start Wednesday with talk by Keep Iredell Clean leaders

Members of a group called Keep Iredell Clean will be in Salisbury on Wednesday to discuss efforts to start a similar program for Rowan County.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Rowan Public Library’s Heritage Room. It is open to the public.

Keep Iredell Clean is an affiliate of the national Keep America Beautiful organization. Its activities have included donating recycling bins to Iredell elementary schools, adopting a highway to keep clean and hosting Earth Day and hazardous waste collection events.

Speakers on Wednesday will be Keep Iredell Clean board of directors Chairman Dan Pope and members Harriette Andres, Victor Crosby and Shawn Eckles.
