Rowan weather: No relief in sight

It’s yet another muggy start to the day, with the temperature at 74 degrees and 89 percent humidity.

We have a 30 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4 p.m. today. It will be sunny and hot, 96, otherwise. Tonight brings the same chance of rain. Patchy fog is possible in the early hours of Friday. The low will be 69.

Friday brings a greater chance of rain, 40 percent, mostly in the afternoon. The day may start with patchy fog, and it will be a little less hot, with a high of 92. It will be partly sunny. Friday night’s chance of rain drops to 30 percent, with a low of 68.

The high Saturday will be 92 again, with a 30 percent chance of storms and showers, again in the afternoon. It will be mostly sunny with a slight breeze from the southwest in the afternoon. The chance of rain Saturday night is just 20 percent. The low will be a muggy 73.

No chance of rain Sunday, with mostly sunny sunny skies and a high of 94. The low will be 72.

Monday’s high soars to 96 degrees, with that same 30 percent chance of showers and storms from the heating of the day,

Tuesday will be mostly sunny and 94, with a low of 72.

Wednesday’s high under sunny skies will be a staggering 98 degrees.

Avoid being outside during the hottest part of the day and take frequent water breaks if you must be out. Use caution with outdoor flames of any kind in these extremely dry conditions. Grass fires can spread quickly to homes and other structures.
