The heat goes on and on. Today’s high of 95 will come with mostly sunny skies and no wind. This afternoon, we have a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Tonight, we have the same chance of showers and storms, mainly before 8 p.m. The low will be 70. Any of the storms could produce frequent cloud to ground lightning and heavy downpours. A few storms will approach severe levels, with damaging winds and large hail possible.

Thursday, the chance of precipitation dwindles to 20 percent, and it will be 95 again, with more sunny skies. A slight breeze comes in the afternoon. The nighttime low will be 69, still with the 20 percent chance of rain.

The chance for showers and storms goes up Friday to 40 percent, but it will still be partly sunny and hot, with a high of 93. The chance of rain sticks around Friday night, with a low of 69.

Saturday has a 30 percent chance of storms and showers, along with partly sunny skies and a high again of 93. Again Saturday night, the chance of rain sticks around, with a low of 72.

Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high of 94 and a low of 73.

Next week starts with that familiar 30 percent chance of storms and showers, and the heat climbs to 96 degrees under mostly sunny skies. It’s also a 30 percent chance of rain Monday night, with a low of 71.

Tuesday, too, will be mostly sunny, with another high in the 90s — 92.

Forecasters predict we’ll have highs in the mid- to upper 90s throughout the end of the month.
