At any age, people can adopt lifestyle habits that will help them maintain or even potentially improve health. These habits may also help to keep the brain healthy and possibly delay the onset of cognitive decline.
To help encourage healthy aging, The Alzheimer’s Association will offer a workshop: Healthy Habits for a Healthier You. Designed for individuals of any age, the session will provide information on how to improve or maintain overall health in the areas of cognitive activity, physical health and exercise, diet and nutrition and social engagement.
The workshop will be from 5:30-6:30 p.m. June 25 at Rufty-Holmes Senior Center, 1120 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. RSVP by June 23 to Deborah Tillman at 704-603-2779 or DTillman@trinityathome.net.
The Alzheimer’s’ Support Group in Rowan County meets the fourth Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at Rufty-Holmes Senior Center.
Affiliated with the Western NC Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, the support group is facilitated by Home Instead Senior Care and Trinity at Home. For additional information, contact Teresa Dakins at 704-788-3399 or Deborah Tillman at 704-603-2779.
