Rowan weather: Serious heat coming our way

The chance of rain today has gone up to 30 percent, with a possibility some storms could have torrential rainfall and frequent cloud-to-ground lightning.

It will still be hot, 89, and partly sunny. Wind will come from the south at 3-8 mph. Tonight, the chance of showers and storms will be mainly before 10 p.m., then patchy fog is possible. The low will be 68.

Friday’s 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms will be the late afternoon variety. During the day, it will be partly sunny and 89 again, with more south winds, 6-8 mph. Friday night’s 30 percent chance of storms will last into the early hours of Saturday, with winds from the southwest at 5-7 mph. The low will be 69.

Saturday will be partly sunny and very hot, with a high of 92 and west wind at 5-8 mph. Saturday’s low will be 69 again.

For Sunday, a 30 percent chance of rain and storms moves in after 5 p.m., but it will be mostly sunny and hotter, with a high of 93. Sunday night’s low will be 70.

Monday is hot, too, with a high of 93 again, and mostly sunny skies. The low will be a muggy 71 degrees.

And it just gets hotter for Tuesday, with a high of 94 and an even warmer low of 72.
