Kannapolis school board to meet Monday

Kannapolis City Schools’ Board of Education will discuss the district’s length of school day Monday.

According to the meeting agenda, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Chip Buckwell will talk about school day hours; Daryle Adams will discuss a local plan for Career and Technical Education; and Kelly Burgess will address understanding by design.

The board will also receive a school nutrition update from Anne Treannor, director of nutrition, and an employee benefits proposal from Director of Human Resources Kim Harn-Soryz.

The board will conduct a second reading of policies about Internet use, social media and student directory information. A first reading of policies concerning dress code and student laptops will also take place.

The Kannapolis City Board of Education will meet Monday at 5 p.m. at the district’s administrative offices, 100 Denver St. in Kannapolis.
