H.O.T. series will pair brews, wine with history

Historic Salisbury Foundation, Inc., Downtown Salisbury Inc. and Salisbury Young Professionals are inviting the public to try out the first History on Tap series — H.O.T. — this summer.

The series will pair neat, old buildings with fun, unique beers. The series will take place exclusively during the “H.O.T.” summer months of June, July and August, and it invites active and potential members of HSF to cool off by sampling both brews and wines while exploring some of Rowan County’s historic places and spaces.

“Participants will see – and taste – the real Salisbury,” HSF said in a press release.

The 2015 H.O.T. series will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of June, July and August.

The series will launch with a special insider tour of the Empire Hotel June 25, sponsored by Fine Frame Gallery. Following this exclusive tour, participants will have a chance to network and enjoy a taste of two fine brews chosen by Salisbury Wine Shop. On July 23, the series will continue by exploring the “History of Cars,” featuring another pair of exceptional brews. The finale will be held on Aug. 27 at The Meroney Theater with a wine pairing from Salisbury Square Antiques. This is a unique opportunity to hear interesting anecdotes about the restoration that occurred 20 years ago this October.

Registration is limited and can be accomplished by visiting the History on Tap page at www.historicsalisbury.org. For more details on the series, sponsorship opportunities or other Historic Salisbury Foundation events, “like” the Historic Salisbury Foundation Facebook page, or call 704-636-0103.
