Fitzsimon to speak to local Democrats Thursday

Chris Fitzsimon will be the speaker at the monthly meeting of the Rowan County Democrats Thursday, May 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioner’s room of the County Building, 130 W. Innes in Salisbury. He is the director of North Carolina Policy Watch.
Fitzsimon is knowledgeable regarding North Carolina legislative decisions and their impact on everyday life. His talk is titled “Raleigh Since 2010, What’s Happened?” North Carolina Policy Watch is a non-partisan, progressive, public policy think tank which is a special project of the North Carolina Justice Center.
Fitzsimon writes the daily Fitzsimon File, delivers a daily radio broadcast statewide on the North Carolina News Network and hosts “News and Views,” a weekly radio news magazine. He has previously worked for the Campaign to Protect America’s Lands in Washington, The Common Sense Foundation in Raleigh, and has been published in the New York times, USA Today, The Christian Science Monitor, The Nation and the Columbia Journalism Review. He has also been an award winning TV news reporter for NC Pubic Television and WRAL.
The meeting is open to the public.
