First Baptist hosting career workshop May 30

“Charting Your Career Course,” a Jobs for Life mini-workshop, is set for Saturday, May 30, from 9:45 a.m. until noon. Planned in conjunction with First Baptist Church-Salisbury’s Operation Inasmuch, a community outreach mission, this one-day event will offer eight workshops to assist job-seekers who wish to learn how to “become the person they want to hire.” Topics include:
- “Destinations, Detours and Dead Ends” – Developing a vocational plan
- “Bridges and Barriers” – Communication and conflict resolution
- “The Journey With Joseph” – The ideal employee
- “Knowing Your Vehicle” – Identifying your personality and interests
- “The Road BEST Travelled” – Who is your customer?
- “Rules of the Road” – Interviewing skills
- “Travelogues & Trip Tickets” – How to write a resume
- “Dents & Dings: Where Do I Go When I Need Help?” – panel discussion including representatives of RCCC, Rowan Helping Ministries, United Way, and other agencies
