A Charlotte man was found driving a Dodge pickup that was reported stolen a week ago from Bruce Lanier Motors. The man told police he was driving a friend’s vehicle, but could not provide a name, police said.

Salisbury Police charged Barron Douglas Eison Jr., 22, of the 3500 block of Tennessee Avenue, with felony receiving or transferring stolen vehicles.

He was spotted in the vehicle on West Horah Street with a license plate that was not securely attached. An officer checked the tag, which indicated the tag belonged with a different vehicle.

When the officer questioned Eison he said he borrowed the car to drive his friends to work. There were two passengers in the truck. He was unable to provide a name for the truck’s owner.

Lanier reported to police that a 2008 white Dodge truck was discovered missing on May 5 from the West Innes Street car lot. He told authorities keys were left next to a door. He’d just bought the truck and placed it near the front of the lot to “get it noticed.”

The dealership owner reported he had about 10 customers, one of whom was interested in that truck. Police checked with the person who was interested in the vehicle, but did not find the truck.

Eison was issued a $7,500 secured bond and has since been released from the Rowan County Detention Center.

Police charged the two passengers each with misdemeanor probation violation.

Junetta Adrienne McNeal, 23, of the 1400 block of West Horah Street, was issued a $10,000 secured bond and Alvin McLaster Alexander III, 23, of the 200 block of West Lafayette Street, was issued a $1,500 secured bond.

Both McNeal and Alexander remain in the Rowan County jail.
