One person was injured Monday evening when an Amtrak train traveling north from Charlotte struck a vehicle near Linwood.

The accident occurred about 10 miles north of Salisbury at about 6 p.m.

None of the 58 passengers or crew on the train were injured, according to a statement from Amtrak. One person in the struck vehicle was injured. Linwood Fire Chief Terry Leonard said the person did not have life-threatening injuries.

The train was able to resume its trip to Raleigh after being delayed for two hours.
