Nathan Pant was traveling along Mooresville Road Monday when his tire slipped off the roadway. The next thing he knew, he was crawling out of his vehicle.

Pant, 36, of Salisbury, was not injured following the single-vehicle crash that occurred before 1:30 p.m. near 9110 Mooresville Road and not far from Sloan Road.

Trooper B.P. Potts said Pant overcorrected and the GMC Yukon overturned once and came to rest right side up. A witness, who was driving behind Pant, told the trooper he didn’t appear to be speeding above the 55 mph limit.

Pant said he was able to get out of the car despite the broken glass on the driver’s side and the front windshield. He said the tire barely left the road. He was out of the vehicle by the time Locke Fire Department responded.

Fire crews in both an engine and rescue truck arrived, but did not have to administer any help to Pant.

Fire Capt. Bradley McKnight said the driver did complain of some minor knee pain, but refused EMS transport or care.
