Blotter: Police looking for man who broke into DJ’s restaurant

Salisbury Police are looking for a man who broke into a local West Innes Street restaurant and took an unknown amount of money from the business’s safe.
A man was seen on surveillance video walking into DJ’s Restaurant’s safe room, 1502 W. Innes St., between 12:15 a.m. and 12:19 a.m., and taking a sum of money.
Police Capt. Shelia Lingle said the thief used some type of tool to pry the door open. It isn’t clear how the man opened the safe or if the safe door was open.
The man is described as a light-skinned black male, wearing a gray striped shirt, black pants and black military or combat style boots. He believed to be about 5 foot 8 inches tall and 175 pounds. He had short hair with a bald spot at the crown.

• Dewey Wesley Smith, 37, was charged on Thursday with misdemeanor simple assault in the 1000 block of Indigo Circle.
• Michael Lee Stirewalt, 16, was charged on Thursday misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor in the 300 block of Moon River Road.
• Adriana Star Martinez, 16, was charged on Thursday with felony uttering a forged instrument in the 400 block of Memory Lane.
