The Rowan County Chamber of Commerce’s next Power in Partnership breakfast will feature a nationally recognized leadership speaker, Phillip Van Hooser, for the Leadership Rowan 2014-15 class graduation May 21 at 7:30 a.m. at Trinity Oaks, 728 Klumac Road. The title sponsor of this event is F&M Bank.

As an entrepreneur and business owner, Van Hooser understands the complexities of building, sustaining and leading a profitable enterprise. From his work in Human Resources and Safety to his experience as a leadership training expert for top U.S. companies, Van Hooser knows what it takes to successfully lead people.

Since 1988, his company has provided leadership training expertise for organizations — large and small — while consistently experiencing double-digit growth. His clients include Alliance Coal, Blue Bell Creameries, Reebok and Westar Energy.

Van Hooser’s latest book, “Leaders Ought To Know: 11 Ground Rules for Common Sense Leadership,” is a handbook for leaders feeling the pressure to perform. A member of the Speaker Hall of Fame, Van Hooser has been named a “Top 5 Leadership Speaker” by Speakers Platform.

Most recently, he has developed a comprehensive leadership training program, Leaders Ought to Know, which incorporates online and onsite leadership training to transform and sustain leadership growth.

This is the last breakfast meeting date for this season. The 2015-16 Power in Partnership season starts in September and runs through May 2016. People interested in obtaining a Power Card can contact the Chamber. The Power Card is the Chamber’s frequent attender program. Card holders receive a discounted price for the Power in Partnership series and do not have to make a reservation each month.
