To be entertained, or not to be entertained, that was not even a question for Salisbury High School as the student body enjoyed the performance of Lee Street Theatre’s production of “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged).”

On April 8, Lee Street Theatre traveled to Salisbury High to present their play, and it was incredible.

Actors Jason Roland, Brian Romans and Jacob Asher were very interactive with the audience in this side-splitting comedy that had the student body engaged and thoroughly entertained.

“The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged),” is a play written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield. The play very quickly covers popular titles by William Shakespeare including “Hamlet,” “Romeo and Juliet,” “Macbeth” and many more.

The Lee Street crew, under the direction of Justin Dionne, played their parts in the production perfectly. The students may have been laughing, but they also were learning about a popular literary figure that afternoon.

Rumor has it that Lee Street Theatre may be producing Shakespeare regularly in the future and we certainly hope they will be bringing these important literary performances to our schools. Humor + The Bard = a fun way to promote literacy goals in Rowan County.
