GRANITE QUARRY — As part of his Eagle Scout project, Zach Huddleston will place 16 birdhouses and tree identification markers along the nature trail at Granite Lake Park, 500 N. Salisbury Ave.

He plans to be doing his project Saturday, beginning in the morning, though a specific time has not been given.

Huddleston also will be giving away birdhouses to the first 20 people who show up at the park Saturday morning as a way of showing his appreciation to the town for its help and support.

A member of Troop 333, Huddleston has led the opening Pledge of Allegiance at most Granite Quarry town board meetings over the past eight years.
