Batten down the hatches! The National Weather Service predicts heavy rainfall today and this afternoon, along with the possibility of flash flooding.
Storms could become strong to severe this afternoon, with cloud to ground lightning, very heavy rainfall, damaging wind gusts and quarter-size hail.
More heavy rain is possible Wednesday, saturating soil and causing streams to rise. It’s all because of moisture heading our way from the Gulf of Mexico.
Starting out at 61 degrees with mist and fog, today could become quite volatile, with an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, especially this afternoon. The high will be 75. As much as half an inch of rain may fall. Tonight, the chance of showers and storms is 60 percent, followed by patchy fog and a low around 54, with another half inch of rain possible.
