Rowan weather: Umbrellas at the ready

This week’s weather looks pretty drippy, with a chance of rain every day and night, even into next weekend.

Today’s chance of showers is 40 percent, mainly after 9 a.m. Cloudy skies will bring the high to 71 and winds will blow from the southeast at 3-8 mph. Tonight, though, the chance of showers is 80 percent, and patchy fog will descend. The low will be 61.

For Tuesday, the chance of showers and thunderstorms is 80 percent, with storms starting after 11 a.m. Heavy rainfall is a possibility, up to 2 inches. The high will be 72. Although the chance of rain drops to 60 percent Tuesday night, we can still expect thunderstorms and a low of 54, with winds shifting to the northeast.

Wednesday has just a 40 percent chance of showers, cloudy skies and a high near 62, with northeast wind around 9 mph. Wednesday night, it’s back up to 60 percent chance of showers, with a low of 47. Get the blankets back out.

And we’re stuck in a loop for the next few days, with a 50 percent chance of showers Thursday and a cooler high of 59; a 40 percent chance of showers for Thursday night, low of 53.

Friday, a 40 percent chance of rain, with a high near 70 under mostly cloudy skies. Friday night, same chance of rain, with a low of 55.

And even Saturday has a 30 percent chance of showers, with partly sunny skies and a high near 76. The low will be 53.

At this point, Sunday, too, has a 30 percent chance of showers, with a high near 69 and partly sunny skies.
