All-County Girls Basketball: Meet the team

2014-15 All-Rowan County girls capsules …

First team

Avery Locklear, South Rowan, Sr., guard — The Rowan County Player of the Year is the leading scorer in South Rowan history (1,795 points) and averaged 20 points per game. Locklear repeated as Rowan County Player of the Year and also was SPC Player of the Year. She scored 20 or more points 14 times.

Demeria Robinson, North Rowan, Sr., guard — A 1,000-point scorer, Robinson led the Cavaliers in scoring (12.6 points per game) and assists (4.5 per game). All-CCC.

Khaila Hall, West Rowan, Jr., guard — Already a 1,000-point scorer, Hall averaged 15.8 points and led the Falcons in steals and assists. She topped 20 points six times, including a 34-point effort against Central Cabarrus. All-SPC.

Alex Allen, Carson, Sr., post — Allen led the Cougars in scoring (15.6 points per game) and rebounding (9.1 per game). Allen scored in double figures in 24 of Carson’s 25 games and took 19 chargers. All-SPC.

Kelli Fisher, East Rowan, Sr., post — The UNC Asheville signee scored in double figures in 24 of the Mustangs’ 26 games. She averaged a double-double (17.3 points and 12.3 rebounds) and blocked 66 shots. All-SPC.

Second team

Cassidy Chipman, South Rowan, Sr., post — Chipman averaged 14.5 points per game, made 39 3-pointers and led the Raiders in rebounding (10.1 per game). All-SPC.

Aliyah Farmer, North Rowan, Jr., post — Farmer averaged 12.2 points per game and a team-high 6.3 rebounds per game. Like Robinson, she made more than half of her 2-point field goals. All-CCC.

Olivia Gabriel, Carson, Fr., guard — The freshman started and ended her first varsity season with 20-point outings. She averaged 13 points and led the Cougars with 4.1 assists per game. All-SPC.

Shenell Pharr, East Rowan, Jr., guard — Pharr has an unusual skill set as she led the Mustangs in steals and also made two-thirds of the Mustangs’ 60 3-pointers. She averaged 11 points per game and topped 20 points twice. All-SPC.

Taylor Martin, West Rowan, Jr., guard — A 5-footer, Martin averaged 12.1 points per game and was one of the county’s peskiest perimeter defenders and best 3-point shooters. She finished the season with back-to-back 24-point efforts. All-SPC.
