A Salisbury teen, already on probation, was charged Wednesday with selling heroin to an undercover officer. Rowan officials say the teen sold to an undercover officer on three different occasions.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office charged Tyler Bryan Beattie, 19, of the 300 block of Imperial Drive, with three counts of sell/deliver heroin, three counts of possess with intent to sell/deliver heroin, and three counts of maintaining a vehicle to keep and sell controlled substances.

A Rowan County Sheriff’s Office undercover officer bought 0.6 grams of heroin from Beattie on Feb. 19; then on March 2, an officer bought 0.8 grams of heroin, and 0.8 grams of heroin on March 12 from the teen.

Beattie remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond.

Beattie has previous convictions in Rowan County for felony possession of cocaine and carrying a concealed weapon and has a pending probation violation.

Anyone with information pertaining to the sales of controlled substances is encouraged to contact the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office at 704-216-8700.
