Athlete of the Week: South’s Blake Johnson

South Rowan junior pitcher Blake Johnson is the Salisbury Post’s Athlete of the Week.
Johnson shut out East Rowan, 5-0, last Wednesday at Staton Field, keeping the Raiders in first place in the South Piedmont Conference.
Johnson is 3-0 on the mound this season and has been productive at the plate as well. In a recent game against Carson, Johnson was the winning pitcher and also drove in the walk-off run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
He pitched a complete game when South Rowan beat second-place Concord, 11-1.
Johnson has had a tremendous start to his varsity career. The left-hander has won 10 of 11 decisions.
