Military news: Shull completes basic training

Air Force Airman 1st Class Austin S. Shull graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas, earning distinction as an honor graduate.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

He is the husband of Analiz Shull and the son of Scott (Jennifer) Shull of Salisbury, N.C., and Tonya Shull of St. Augustine, Fla.,

The airman graduated in 2009 from East Rowan High School, Salisbury, and earned a bachelor’s degree in 2014 from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Charlotte, N.C.
