Superintendent Dr. Lynn Moody will address teacher work-time consistency and Saturday makeup days with the Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education Monday when the board meets for its monthly work session.

The board will also discuss the district’s driver’s education program. State legislatures have cut funding for the program, and the board will decide how to move forward.

The district’s AdvanceEd accreditation will be discussed, as well as the board attorney’s job description and the district’s financial audit contract.

Proposed policies regarding student promotion and accountability, class rankings, school volunteers, graduation requirments and nonrenewal for non-career status teachers are also on the agenda.

The board will discuss travel allotments for board members traveling to seminars and conferences.

Board Chairman Josh Wagner will give a brief presentation on a program district leadership is considering using in the future called Thought Exchange.

“It’s used to help gather feedback from the community,” he said, adding that it allows the district to send out surveys and analyze the answers.

The Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education will meet Monday at 4 p.m. at the district’s executive offices, 314 N. Ellis Street in Salisbury.
