Staff report

North Rowan senior Demeria Robinson was honored as CCC Co-Player of the Year for girls basketball.

Robinson averaged 12.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.6 steals for the  second-place Cavaliers and was a 1,000-point scorer.

Robinson shared POY honors with East Davidson guard Madi Hallman.

North Rowan’s Special Washington and Aliyah Farmer and Salisbury’s Breya Philpot and Maria Capito made All-CCC.

Other All-CCC players were East Davidson’s Bayley Plummer, Miranda Cumpton, Caitlin Lookabill and Jordan Isom, and Thomasville’s Christina Coleman and Dee Long.

West Davidson’s Jamie Motsinger was named CCC Coach of the Year.

East Davidson’s Don Corry was runner-up.

• Lexington’s JaKishe Page was the CCC Player of the Year for boys basketball.

North Rowan’s Jalen Sanders was runner-up for player of the year.

North Rowan’s Josh Handy made All-CCC, along with Salisbury’s Deshawn Troutman, D.J. Alexander and Wes Fazia.

Lexington’s Nolan Benson and Devin Cross; Thomasville’s Tyquan Anderson and Jahare Taylor-Thomas; West Davidson’s Carson Beane, and East Davidson’s Makagan Barrett were All-CCC.

Lexington’s Jon Weavil was named CCC Coach of the Year. West Davidson’s Derrick Stokes was runner-up.

All-CCC wrestling

Sharing CCC Wrestler of the Year honors were Salisbury’s J.C. Burton and Thomasville’s Jason Boutsady.

West Davidson’s Wes Walser was named CCC Coach of the Year. Lexington’s Randy Kennedy was runner-up.

Rowan wrestlers on the All-CCC team were North Rowan’s Jaleel Hitchens and  Salisbury’s Burton, Jibri Cowan, Darius Jackson, Tyrell Blakeney,  Willie Clark, Simeon Caldwell, Spencer Bowler and Marquise Peele.

All-CCC swimming

In girls swimming, Salisbury’s Kathryn Morrison and East Davidson’s Maggie Whitman shared CCC Swimmer of the Year honors.

Salisbury’s Ryan Starrett was named CCC Coach of the Year, with North Rowan’s Sallie Hundley runner-up.

Salisbury’s All-CCC swimmers were Morrison, Michaela Lemmon, Sharmi Amin, Amelia Steinman, Callie Alexander, Shelby Holden, Mary Kauffman and Anna Patel

Boys

CCC Swimmer of the Year for boys was West Davidson’s Alex van der Linden. Salisbury’s Ethan Knorr was runner-up.

Hundley was named CCC Coach of the Year, while Starrett was runner-up.

North Rowan’s Cody Dollarhide, Luke Miller, Cory Fries, Blake Pegram and Gage Jensen were All-CCC.

Salisbury’s Knorr, Miles Robinson, Maxwell Patel, Ryan Lasker, Matt Woolly and Cameron McLendon were All-CCC.
