Rowan weather: Cold today, but a nice weekend

Published 8:00 am Friday, March 6, 2015

We’re under a winter weather advisory until noon today because all that cold air has probably left patches of black ice on roads that did not dry out from Thursday’s rain. It’s just 23 degrees at 8 a.m.

The sun is out, and we will warm up to around 40 degrees. A north northeast wind will calm in the afternoon, leading to another cold night, with a low of 24.

More sun is on the way for Saturday, with a pleasant high of 55 degrees, and light wind from the southwest. Saturday night’s low will be 30.

Sunday should be gorgeous, with sunny skies and a high near 62. A 20 percent chance of rain comes in Sunday night, with a low around 41 degrees.

You knew all those sunny days forecast for next week were too good to be true, didn’t you?

We now have a 30 percent chance of rain Monday afternoon, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 59. The chance of rain goes up to 50 percent Monday night, with a low around 43.

There’s still a 50 percent chance of rain Tuesday, with more clouds and a high of 54. The chance of rain goes down to 40 percent Tuesday night, with a low of 42.

We should get a break Wednesday, when it will be partly sunny and near 60. Wednesday night’s low will be 44.

Thursday looks partly sunny, too, with a high near 60.
