DOT to shut down parts of I-85 for survey work

N.C. Department of Transportation contractors will be performing nightly survey work with ground penetrating radar on I-85 near Salisbury on March 9-10 from midnight-6 a.m.

The work will require the closure of three of the five southbound lanes each night between mile markers 76 and 75 (West Innes Street and Jake Alexander Boulevard.) Crews will close the three outside lanes of I-85 South Monday night and the three inside lanes Tuesday night. The closures will take place between midnight and 6 a.m.

This is a continuation of work done last summer to try to determine why some of the concrete is settling and cracking.
