Senior Games Duplicate
Weather cancelled our Tuesday game last week making it a slow week. This week we are having a full schedule. On Monday, Feb. 23 Trinity Oaks hosted our Senior Games duplicate game.
We had eight tables in play. A good time was had by all.
Winners: N/S Gold: Carol Bachl and Judy Gealy; Silver: Gloria Bryant and Maggie Canup; Bronze: Pat Macon and John McLaughlin; E/W Gold: Nancy Brandt and Tom Johnson; Silver: Fern Albracht and Christy Cline;, Bronze: Toni Iossi and Fred Bachl. Congratulations all.
Our Friday, Feb. 20 game was once again well attended. N/S winners: First, Gloria Bryant and Betsy Bare; second, Marie Pugh and Ruth Bowles; third, Judy Gealy and Carol Bachl while winning E/W were: First, Betty Bills and Nancy Stanback; second, visitors from Concord Charles and Marnie Buchta; third, newcomer Nancy Brandt and Tom Johnson.

Marie Pugh and Ruth Bowles had the best N/S score bidding 3DN making 4 while Pat Featherston and Dick Brisbin had the best E/W score defeating opponents 5DN* 2 tricks. All pairs played in N/S even though E/W had a preponderance of points. This is an example of “Points Schmointz.”
The Tuesday, Feb. 24 Women’s Club game was once again threatened by weather. Thanks to a few members bringing others from their homes we had a three-table game.
