SALISBURY — Chloe Bully, Catawba’s only senior, had struggled some in recent games but not on Saturday’s Senior Day.

Bully, who leads the Indians in scoring, assists and steals, made three 3-pointers and sparked a 75-55 SAC win against Lincoln Memorial with 22 points.

“Chloe had a really good game,” Catawba Angie Morton said. “That was wonderful with her parents here (from Belgium) to see her play.”

Catawba had lost to Lincoln Memorial (14-14, 11-11) on the road but had little difficulty in the rematch, even with early fouls limiting talented Jada Huntley to seven points and eight boards.

The Indians (17-10, 14-8)  tied for third in the final SAC standings and will be the No. 4 seed for the SAC tournament. Catawba will host Carson-Newman at 7 p.m. in a first-round game on Wednesday.

Catawba shot only 31.1 percent, but it had 17 offensive rebounds, shot 80 percent from the foul line (32-for-40) and forced 26 turnovers.

“It was a solid game for us,” Morton said. “Bri Johnson played a very smart game and kept getting to the foul line.”

Johnson shot 12-for-14 on free throws to account for most of her 19 points. Terri Rogers scored 11.

Lincoln Memorial got 12 points from Megan Pittman and 11 from Josey Harding.

The Railsplitters  finished sixth and will visit No. 3 Newberry in the tournament’s first round.

Catawba finished the first half strong for a 31-21 halftime lead. Lincoln Memorial got as close as six points early in the second half, but Huntley answered with a layup. After Bully’s 3-pointer for a 15-point lead with 6:42 left, it was time for Bully to get hugs from her teammates.
