Rowan weather: Freezing drizzle and rain next

Did you wake up to a car encased in ice? That was freezing fog that moved through, and there’s still fog in some places. At 25 degrees, it’s still going to freeze.

We are under a winter weather advisory until 10 a.m. due to the possibility of black ice. Main thoroughfares are mostly clean and dry, but any street that still had snow or melting snow on it last night will be frozen this morning.

And it’s not going to be as warm this weekend as earlier predicted, in fact, there’s a chance of freezing drizzle Saturday night into Sunday.

For today, we’ll see some sun and the high will be near 39 degrees. A north wind at 3 to 6 mph will make it feel a little colder. Tonight, the low will be 22, with continued light winds.

Saturday looks like it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 36 and northeast wind at 5-8 mph. The chance of freezing drizzle Saturday night is just 20 percent, along with some freezing rain. The low will be around 25.

You may wake up Sunday morning to more freezing drizzle before 10, then drizzle between 10 and 11, then rain after that, but again, it’s only a 30 percent chance. The high will be around 38. There’s a 40 percent chance of rain Sunday night, with a low of 35.

And on Monday, it’s a 40 percent chance of rain, but a high near 57 degrees. Monday night, another 40 percent chance of rain, and a low of 38.

Keep the umbrellas handy for Tuesday, which has a 50 percent chance of rain, and a high near 48. The low won’t go down much, to 46, but we’ll still have a 50 percent chance of rain.

Two things will go up on Wednesday — the chance of rain, to 60 percent, and the high to near 65. And it’s still 60 percent for rain Wednesday night, along with a chance of thunderstorms, too, and a low of 47.

Hope you like rain, because at this point, Thursday also has a 50 percent chance of it, too, with a high near 60.

If this all comes to be, we are going to have to get out the canoes.
